Transferring save files requires the use of a Flash drive (because The Sims 4 doesn't support Origin's cloud storage), but it doesn't sound all that difficult.
In addition, Maxis notes that existing Sims 4 saves and all of the add-on content you already own for the Windows PC version can be transferred to the Mac edition. All Sims 4 players who already own the game for Windows PC (digital or physical) are entitled to the Mac version through Origin at no extra cost.
